Years ago, I viewed meditation as a trite activity for self serving individuals who claimed that they needed to “check in with themselves” in order to validate their existence, and  place in this world minus the chaos(good or bad) all around them.  My definition of meditation was to get as much sleep as I could to wake up, work hard, take care of family, friends & to carry on the mantra of treating people the way you want to be treated.

Given the current state of the world, this mantra is not practiced by all. 2020 has been an incredibly stressful year for ALL OF US & I had to reevaluate the words above. I realized that I needed a time out to FOCUS on myself, check in with my feelings & to know that I’m not alone. Cue Annie Vinje! She reached out to me & without hesitation, I said, “Let’s do this.” 

Her warmth, professionalism, compassion, attentiveness & soothing style resonate with me & she has opened my eyes to a practice that I have grown to love & sooooo appreciate. It has settled me in ways beyond working out & exercising. THIS IS HUGE FOR ME because I’ve always felt as long as I get in a workout, that’s all the “meditation” I need. Annie has shown me there are ways to balance everything out & come out stronger.

Mediation eases my anxiety, reminds me to breathe & focus on me. It gives me a better perspective on WHY I am feeling the way I am feeling and gives pause on how to react to situations beyond my control.
